Mystikal seeks privacy in his Rape case.
As reported on Hip Hop DX, the New Orleans rapper’s new defense attorney, Tiffany Myles Crosby filed a request for a gag order to be placed on his rape and false imprisonment case. The reason is due to an “inordinate amount of publicity.”
If the gag order is granted, attorneys and others from either side would be forbidden from commenting on the case to anyone including radio, television, or newspapers. Mystikal will appear in court on March 20,
The 52-year-old “Shake It Fast” rapper is facing life in prison following his first-degree rape and domestic abuse indictment.
The alleged attack It took place at his Prairieville home, Louisiana, on July 30, 2013. NOLA reports on September 6, the Ascension Parish grand jury “handed up the rape charge and nine other criminal counts The Grammy-nominated rapper was reprimanded. Sheriff deputies accused Tyler of “imprisoning, strangling, raping and robbing a woman during a financial dispute.”
Mystikal is also facing a single charge of criminal mischief following the alleged incident domestic abuseThe outlet reports that he has been indicted for battery by strangulation, simple robbery and possession with heroin. Two additional indictments were issued against him on the same day that police raided his house.
It’s noted Mystikal is registered as a lifetime sex offender after his 2003 conviction for sexual assault and extortion. He’s had other arrests in the past for drug possession, domestic violence, and rape, but none led to his conviction. A grand jury dismissed his sexual assault case in 2017 after he spent 18 months in jail.
He is currently being held at Ascension Parish Prison, without bail.
