In a stunning upset, college football saw another team that was ranked get upset.

MissouriNo. 15 – a four-point underdog at home – defeated No. 15 Kansas State 30–27 on the strength of an SEC record 61-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis.

With the game tied 27–27 and only three seconds remaining in the game, Mevis blasted the mammoth game-winner through the rain to give the Tigers to an incredible walk-off win.

Ove Johannsson, of Abilene Christians, missed Mevis’ kick, a SEC record. NCAA record 69-yard field goal East Texas State, back in 1976.

Although, Mevis’ kick came up short of earning placement as the longest field goal in college football history, it will live forever in Tigers’ lure.

Missouri, which improves to 3–0 on the year, will host Memphis next week at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. Kansas State, which falls to 2–1, will look to rebound when they host UCF at home at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium next Saturday.
