Interior design studio based in Sydney Atelier Alwill They are known for creating contemporary interiors that have a lasting relevance. The studio’s founder, Romy Alwill, has a background steeped in design. She was inspired to pursue a design career after living in Tokyo, Japan, with her family during high school. She studied interior architecture in Australia and then spent a few years living and working abroad before returning to Australia and becoming the interior design editor of Belle magazine. After years of working in the industry, she opened her own design studio in 2005. We spoke with Romy to find out how her experience has shaped her as a designer and how she approaches design in the future.
