Established under the name Effegibi in 1987 as a producer of Finnish saunas; Effe has through the years looked to bring this product – used mainly in collective spaces – into use in private homes and make it available to the general public. In 2005, Effe launched the company Effe Perfect Wellness began to expand until its biggest project with Rodolfo Dodoni in 2016. This set Effe Perfect Wellness apart from the competition in the industry. As the Aladdin sauna by Rodolfo Dordoni Michele Angelini and Natural by Marco Williams FagioliEffe is a blend of tradition and visions of the futuristic future that has a distinct style. The two models were debuted during Salone del Mobile 2023.

Aladdin is the latest 2023 product to come from Effe’s long-standing partnership with Rodolfo Dordoni. Michele Angelini and Effe’s designer have created a design that evokes images of weightlessness. It is designed to be a discrete, understated home addition. What makes the sauna’s design stand out is its uncluttered walls and mirrored fascia, which runs around the bottom both inside and out. This reflective band creates the illusion that the furniture is floating within the space. The soft lighting on the benches further highlights this effect.

Fascia reflects floor outside, creating continuity in the surrounding. These benches are constructed from just two pieces and have rounded edges that give them an elegant, comfortable look. The heart of the sauna is the heater which is anodized aluminium. This is a visual reference to the frame on the outside. Another distinctive feature of the design is the platform covered in grès porcelain that can be installed inside to appear like a raised – flying – carpet.

Marco W. Fagioli, natural collection
Natural by Marco Williams Fagioli combines three wellbeing rituals – the Hammam, sauna and infrared sauna – and all the benefits their heat offers in one single design. Modules of the same dimensions (140 x105 x 214) can be used in hotels, resorts, or homes. Externally, they are covered in heat-treated, aspen wood, which is sophisticated and pleasing to the touch. A front glass wall of 8mm thick toughened transparent glass completes the look. The interiors feature different materials to reflect the various wellness rituals and traditions.

The Natural Hammam, cladded internally in grès porcelain, promotes the beneficial effects that steam has on the mind and body. The Nuvola steamer is located under the bench. It is controlled by a white glass panel that has backlit icons. Color therapy is also included. The shower enhances sensory wellness with its refreshing and toning functions. To complete the overall effect, the fittings come in three different finishes – chrome, matte black and matte gunpowder grey.

The sauna in the same range is entirely constructed of heat-treated wood, giving it a comfortable and natural feel. Inside is a high bench with room for two people and a lower movable seat with a thick laminated grès porcelain top which matches the panel behind the heater. Like the Hammam the side wall is a backlit satin finish glass panel, which gives the impression of a larger space. Transparency of the glass allows light to flood into the sauna. This lets the user feel connected with the environment and eliminates any feeling of enclosedness. A 3kW heater is also included to quickly bring the sauna temperature up for a relaxing experience.

The third product of the Natural series, combines infrared technology with design in order to meet the growing demand for such treatments in Northern Europe. Once inside, infrared rays penetrate the skin deep down, warming the body at a temperature lower than in a traditional sauna – around 30-40°C – and relaxing tendons and muscles. This cubicle is also made from heat treated aspen. It has a clear glass expanse along the front of the wall. Meanwhile, the bench was positioned in a way to receive direct heat from the infrared lights. This sauna is not only beneficial for the body, but also provides a sense of relaxation.
